Tewkesbury Borough Council's Planning Enforcement Service is expanding, and this is your opportunity to be part of an ambitious and growing team.
We are investing in a new Planning Compliance Officer role to support our established Planning Enforcement Team as we respond to the opportunities and challenges presented by one of the fastest-growing areas in the region.
Tewkesbury Borough, located in north Gloucestershire, is experiencing significant residential and commercial growth, including the delivery of major strategic developments through the Garden Communities programme. Occupying a key position between Cheltenham, Gloucester and the M5 corridor, the borough plays an important role in shaping sustainable growth across the county. Working collaboratively with neighbouring authorities through a joint planning strategy, we are helping to deliver new homes, employment opportunities and infrastructure whilst protecting the area's unique character and environmental assets.

As a Planning Compliance Officer, you will play a key role in investigating alleged breaches of planning control and helping to ensure that development takes place in accordance with planning permissions and in the wider public interest. You will undertake site visits, gather evidence, liaise with residents, landowners, developers and elected members, and work closely with colleagues across the planning service. Your work will contribute directly to maintaining public confidence in the planning system and protecting the quality of our built and natural environment.
We are looking for a proactive and organised individual with strong communication and investigative skills.
