About The Role

Are you a passionate leader ready to make your mark and spearhead the transformation of our HR & OD function? Tewkesbury Borough Council is an ambitious authority located in a fast growing area of northern Gloucestershire. We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated individual to lead the delivery of human resources and organisation development across the council.

Reporting to the Executive Director of Resources, you will be a crucial part of our wider leadership team, providing expert advice and guidance to Council senior management whilst leading and developing the busy HR & OD team.  The Head of Human Resources and Organisational Development will be instrumental in shaping the Council’s workforce strategy, driving HR initiatives, and leading organisational development. This role requires a strategic leader who also possesses detailed operational HR knowledge to drive the Council forward in becoming a high performing organisation.

We’re looking for someone who is experienced, influential and with a wealth of professional knowledge and expertise. You will possess excellent leadership and communication skills,  be adept at juggling competing priorities and positively embrace challenges.

This post is eligible for a hybrid working arrangement (approximately 2 days in the office and 3 days at home, subject to business need), or can be fully office based if preferred.

For an informal discussion about this post, please contact Simon Dix, Executive Director of Resources on 01684 272005.

We reserve the right to close the opportunity early should there be a large response from suitable candidates.

Closing Date: Sunday 1 December 2024
