Join our Revenues & Benefits team as a Trainee Area Revenues (Business Rates) Officer and start building a career in local government finance. You’ll support the administration of Business Rates, help maintain accurate account records, and provide professional customer service to local businesses — all while receiving structured training and day‑to‑day support from experienced colleagues.
 
What you’ll do

Assist with billing, account updates, reliefs and exemptions.
Handle enquiries from businesses, landlords and agents.
Keep records accurate and up to date.
Learn to apply Business Rates legislation and local policies.
 
What you’ll bring

A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
Good communication skills and attention to detail.
Confidence using IT systems.
Experience in customer service or administration is helpful but not essential.
